I never thought it would happen to me… September 7, 2010

At 4:30pm on Friday, September 3rd, I left my office early and set out to Rugby, North Dakota to visit The Actual for the long weekend.

The three and a half hour drive through the vast farmsteads of NoDak leave a lot of time for thinking. Between flipping through my iPod, cursing my Siruis radio, and weaving my way through construction I made a mental list of things I needed to do when I got back to Fargo:

Price out new tires… go grocery shopping… order The Actual’s birthday present… begin reading for my Athletic Facility Management class… get a jump-start on research for the second thesis of my life…

I finally arrived in the geographical center of North America and made my way to the only apartment complex in town. I grabbed my bags and trudged up to the third floor where my significant other waited patiently for my arrival – probably pwning noobs in Halo or rocking out to Beatle’s Rockband.

We did all our schmoopy hellos and began to tell him about the drive and how much I hated driving on Route 2 in the afternoon towards his place as it is an East-West highway and I’m driving west and the sun is in my eyes the ENTIRE TWO HOURS I DRIVE ON IT.

That’s when I notice he’s got that shit-eating-I’m-up-to-something  grin on his face.

“What’s going on?”

That’s when I finally notice he is holding something between us – right against my heart.

"Will you marry me?"

I guess I need to add “plan a wedding” to that list of things I need to do.

I have to be honest... the first thing I said was "Are you for real?"

TMI Thursday – Someone Shit on the Porch April 29, 2010

Although LiLu has retired, I have decided to let the legend live on… So prepare yourself for the disgusting, naughty, and downright wrongness that is TMI Thursday.

I have two friends back home in Indiana – we’ll call them Hockey and Football.

Hockey and Football happen to be really good friends with a guy we’ll call Backer Boy.

Before I started chasing after girls in dark hued thongs, they told me about the time someone left shit on Backer Boy’s front porch. It wasn’t on fire… although it was definitely warm.

This is their story.

Once upon a time, there was a boy who dumped his girlfriend. Two years later, this ex girlfriend started bumping uglies with one of Backer Boy’s roommates.

Despite the fact that HE dumped HER over 730 days before, he was not very happy about this new hobby she picked up.

So one night after said ex girlfriend and said roommate left the bar – this boy decided to drink his sorrows away until the lights came on and last call was announced. Did he go home for the night to sleep off his Drunky McSloppiness?

Wouldn’t be TMI Thursday is he did!

This inordinately toasted, irrational man walked to Backer Boy’s house and proceeded to yell and curse and CLIMB the house in an attempt to see if his ex-girlfriend was in fact, sleeping with the roommate.

All while Backer Boy and the roommate were watching out their window.

After about an hour of Mr. Asshat pretty much acting as if someone canceled his World of Warcraft account, he decided he had enough.

So he walked up to their front door, dropped trow, and shit on their front step.

Yes, you heard me right.

He. shit. on. their. front. step.

And guess what? The ex-girlfriend wasn’t even there.
